Wafer Head Self-Drilling Tek Screws (Zinc Plated)
Fasten wire lath, metal brackets, electrical boxes, and thin sheet metal directly to light and heavy-gauge steel studs with our Zinc-Plated Wafer Head Self-Drilling Screws (commonly known as K-Lath Screws or Modified Truss Head Tek Screws). Designed with an integrated drill-bit point, these heavy-duty fasteners drill their own pilot hole, cut matching threads, and clamp sheets tightly in one continuous operation—eliminating the need for pre-drilling or punch marking.
Featuring an extra-wide, low-profile wafer head with a flat underside, these screws act as an integrated washer to distribute clamping force over a larger surface area. This low-profile design prevents sheet metal pull-through, tearing, or crushing while keeping the screw head low enough to avoid interfering with drywall, stucco, or overlapping cladding panels installed on top.
Key Features
-
Extra-Wide Wafer Head: Integrated washer-style head increases bearing surface area to prevent pull-through when securing thin wire mesh, metal lath, and sheet metal.
-
Low-Profile Head Clearance: Ultra-flat head profile fits flush beneath drywall sheets, cement boards, and exterior cladding panels without creating unsightly bumps.
-
Self-Drilling Drill Point (Tek Point): Pierces directly through steel profiles and metal studs (up to 3.0 mm thick) without requiring pilot holes.
-
Deep PH2 Phillips Drive: Precision #2 Phillips cross recess ensures snug bit engagement, minimizing driver slippage, cam-out, and screw head stripping during high-speed installation.
-
Corrosion-Resistant Zinc Coating: Bright clear-zinc plating protects the hardened carbon steel core from rust, humidity, and atmospheric corrosion.
